Pre Academy & Development                            Centres

 

This is where your journey begins.

 

The Pre-Academy was created in order to offer official training sessions to young players who can register with  TTFA during the season of their fourth birthday. Even though at this stage the players are too young to play in a team, with the quality of coaching on offer, the Pre-Academy children are well equipped when they reach the U7s age bracket (Y2 at Primary School) to play weekly matches - either at grassroots level for Tiki Taka Football Academy or potentially for a professional football club.

 

There are different pathways for inclusion in the Pre-Academy. The first being by invitation from our Player & Scout Recruitment Network and the second through recommendation from our existing players. More recently, it is also becoming more common for parents/guardians to see the success of our current sessions via social media and thus contact us directly to book their child a place.

The Development Centres were originally designed to help players who are brand new to football to develop their skills and confidence in equal measure. These were , and still can be, stand-alone sessions. However, many of our attendees grew in confidence to such a degree that they later filtered into one of our grassroots teams.

Two Development Centres currently operate; one  for players new to football aged 4-9 and a further session for footballing beginners who are aged 10 or over.

The training sessions have been designed to develop the basic technical skills of each player through ball mastery and basic tactical knowledge. Parents/guardians can opt for their child to attend either the Pre-Academy or Development Centre. In fact, some players enjoy and benefit from the sessions so much that they attend both!
